In addition to dignitaries such as former Comptroller General of the US Government David Walker, Tom Hegna, Van Mueller, and PhD Marty Eichenbaum, we’ve added the following interviews:

Ben Carson: Current Secretary of HUD in Trump’s cabinet, and former brain surgeon who has strong opinions on the fiscal solvency of Medicare and Medicaid.

Ed Slott: 6-time National PBS Television show host, author of multiple books and founder of irahelp.com.

Laurence Kotlikoff: PhD, Boston University, Author of “Get What’s Yours”, New York Times Bestseller, and foremost expert on our nation’s spiraling debt crisis.

We’re planning on a nationwide release in early September, 2018. Through websites such as tugg.com, you’ll be able to rent movie theaters in your market for client appreciation or prospecting events. On websites such as reelhouse.org, you’ll be able to either rent the movie or purchase copies. Physical DVDs will also be available. Whichever avenue you choose, you’ll be able to use this movie to promote the Power of Zero concept to your clients. Eventually the movie will land on Netflix where it will be exposed to a vast national audience.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Four years ago I self-published a book called The Power of Zero. I put it up for sale on Amazon and crossed my fingers. To my great disbelief, people actually bought the book! Since then The Power of Zero has sold over 250,000 copies and has spawned a sequel (Look Before You LIRP), and a documentary (release date September, 2018).

I am honored and humbled to announce that the updated and revised 2018 version of The Power of Zero will be published in September through Penguin Random House (Crown Imprint). This book is available on Amazon for pre-order immediately.

I strongly believe that having the backing of a major publisher like Penguin Random House lends a sense of legitimacy to the Power of Zero movement and the tax-free paradigm. This isn’t just some exotic idea that some rogue financial planner cooked up in his garage. This is a legitimate, mainstream concept that’s been vetted by the largest publishing house in the world.

This updated version will include an entirely new chapter in which I describe how our country’s fiscal landscape has changed for the worst since I first published The Power of Zero in 2014, and why the Trump Tax Cuts will require an even larger tax increase in 2026 and beyond. This chapter will also discuss how to interpret the new tax cuts through the prism of the Power of Zero approach. I describe how we went from an era where we knew that in some vague and distant future taxes were likely to go up, to an era where we now know the year and the day when taxes will go up! Taxes are on sale, and every year that we fail to take advantage of these historically low tax rates is potentially a year on the back end where we’ll have to pay the highest tax rates we’re likely to see in our lifetimes.

I also discuss the 24% tax bracket which I believe is the unheralded sweet spot in the new tax code. If you aren’t taking advantage of the 24% tax bracket now, you will after reading this new chapter!

Thanks to all of you who supported this book over this years and helped this dream become a reality. I couldn’t have done it without you!

One question we often get is whether Roth Conversions count towards the Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) thresholds that phase out Roth contributions. The short answer is “no”. However, it is important to note that while Roth Conversions don’t count towards those thresholds, IRA distributions do. So, when you’re charting your client’s course toward the 0% tax bracket, make sure that if you are utilizing the Roth IRA, you don’t make another financial decisions that may, in the end, prevent your from doing it.

Don’t forget that the updated and revised version of The Power of Zero will be released through Penguin Random House in September. It’s available for pre-order right now.

September also happens to be the month where we’ll be releasing our The Power of Zero documentary. Here is a non-exhaustive list of who is in the documentary so far:

Ed Slott, Tom Hegna, Van Mueller, David Walker, Larry Kotlikoff–PhD, Martin Eichenbaum–PhD, George P. Schulz–PhD, Dr. Ben Carson, Armstrong Williams, Don Blanton, Congressman Tom McClintock, the Governor of Utah Gary Herbert and others.
